Our Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas to you all! It was a fun day here. Just having Dallas home this year made a huge difference!
Tru still is not quite into Santa or even presents. He will open one present if prompted but would prefer to stop once he sees the toy inside the wrapping. Lin-Ley on the other hand was absolutely beside her self with anticipation of Santa's arrival.

Dallas and Lin-Ley (and Tru stopped by for a few seconds) tracked Santa just before bed last night. He had already finished up in Europe and was currently spotted in Canada.

Lin-Ley was happy to go to bed and pretended to be asleep as soon as her head hit the pillow.

Once the kids were in bed Dallas and I had to take care of some "business" downstairs.

Here you will find Lin-Ley's note to Santa on behalf of Tru and herself.

Although I know Santa prefers homemade cookies Lin-Ley saved these Little Debbie cakes from her school Christmas party especially for Santa. As you can see the cookies took a beating in her backpack. According to Lin-Ley it did not matter what they looked like - she just knew that Santa would really enjoy them.
She also threw in an apple for Rudolph and some celery for good measure.
And by the way, she was right - Santa enjoyed the Little Debbies.

Everything was just right. The tree was surrounded by gifts from family and friends.

Santa left many goodies for each of the kids. Lin-Ley's most requested toy was the animatronic lion cub. That is all she has talked about.
Tru loves Elmo!

Ahhhh. What a lovely presentation.....

7AM rolled around and Tru was up. One request and Lin-Ley was out of the bed and heading down the stairs. She could hear her lion cub purring!

30 minutes later you would have thought a bomb exploded in our den. Boxes, paper and toys everywhere. The kids were in heaven. I remember that feeling so we let them play as we cleaned up around them.

While most little boys would line up their trucks one behind the other Tru has a different method. He prefers to stack them on top of each other. Then they all fall down and he becomes very upset.
That happened over and over and over all day. We could not convince him that it would be so much easier and more fun to line them up.
His way or no way!

I tried to stack all of their new gifts in one area so we could walk through the room. That was fine - Lin-Ley just sat down in the middle of them.

Tru, meanwhile, was still trying to get those truck stacked up. And still screaming every time they fell down!

After breakfast the phone rang. It was Santa and he had one more gift for Lin-Ley and Tru:
(You will have to watch the video clip to learn what the gift was.)

There should plenty of fun and photos to share over the next week. Stay tuned!
